Data and AI Policy
Dr. Brown Cares LLC ยท Effective August 15, 2026
Plain explanation of data flows, aggregation, and the limits of any AI feature.
What Data Are Collected
- Account and contact information provided by an adult.
- Progress markers such as completed steps, badges, and keys.
- Journal and drawing content, stored locally on the device wherever practical.
- Technical and usage data required to operate and secure the service.
Why They Are Collected
- To deliver the story, activities, and progress features.
- To keep accounts secure and to prevent abuse.
- To improve comprehension, safety, and developmental appropriateness.
- To produce aggregate, de-identified measures of how the material is used.
Who May Receive Them
- Service providers under contract, limited to what is necessary to operate the platform.
- Legal authorities where required by law.
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, subject to this policy.
- No sale of personal information. No behavioral advertising to children.
How Long They Are Retained and When They Are Deleted
Data are retained only as long as needed for the purpose collected, for legal compliance, or for security. Adults may request deletion of account data at any time, and may clear locally stored family content directly from the device.
How They Are Secured
Encryption in transit, restricted administrative access, environment separation, credential rotation, monitoring of security events, and periodic review of controls.
How Aggregated Datasets Are Created
Aggregated datasets are constructed by removing direct identifiers, combining records across many users, and reporting only at a level where individuals and households cannot reasonably be re-identified. Aggregated datasets may support product improvement and publications described in the Research Participation Agreement.
Artificial Intelligence
- AI outputs are informational.
- Users remain responsible for independent judgment.
- AI may generate inaccurate information.
- Outputs require professional review.
- AI continually evolves.
- AI is never a substitute for Scripture, prayer, pastoral wisdom, trusted-adult guidance, or professional care.
- Children should not interact with any AI feature except alongside a participating adult.
Spiritual Content and AI
No AI feature interprets a child's spiritual experience, assigns meaning to a dream or impression, or replaces a trusted adult. Any AI layer exists to serve parents through Scripture retrieval, organization, reflection questions, and pattern summaries, while discernment remains grounded in Scripture, trusted relationships, pastoral wisdom, and prayer.
